Ibn katheer said: “It has been that in general, the best days of the year are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah- just as the hadeeth says – and that they are far more superior than the last ten days of Ramadaan! That is because Allaah has legislated prayer & fasting & voluntary charity etc during the month of Ramadaan, however, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are distinguished for having been chosen for the performance of the rights of Hajj.” (2)
“There are no days greater in the sight of Allaah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahleel (Laa ilaaha illAllaah), Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar) and Tahmeed (Alhamdulillaah)”. (4)
